Welcome to the Wollongong Disciples of Jesus Community webpage
Disciples of Jesus seeks to serve and renew the Church by bringing the good news to others. We place ourselves in full submission to the Church and only operate with the local Bishops permission. We aim to support each other in our daily lives and meet together weekly on Sundays for prayer, music and teaching. Afterwards we spend time together over tea, coffee and refreshments. This weekly meeting is known as our Community Gathering. You are warmly invited to join us and we'd love to meet you.

A little bit about us
The Disciples of Jesus is a community of people who are united in mutual commitment to each other and the Catholic way of life. The Disciples of Jesus has grown out of the world-wide Charismatic Renewal movement. The Community isbound together by an out-pouring of God's grace which flows from Baptism in the Holy Spirit. Baptism in the Holy Spirit leads individuals to a fuller understanding of their sacramental Baptism and to experience charismatic gifts. These spiritual gifts have been an important part of Christian history as recorded in the Acts of the Apostles. The gifts are used for the good of the whole community.
The Disciples of Jesus is an authentically Catholic Community. The Community aims to bring people to know Jesus Christ, to foster a missionary outlook in its members and to encourage participation in local works of service and mercy. This includes an openness to the poor, disadvantaged and marginalised people in society.
Under the Inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Disciples of Jesus Covenant Community began in Sydney in 1979 and the Hephzibah Covenant Community began in Canberra in 1982. These two Communities amalgamated in 1994 and retained the name the Disciples of Jesus Covenant Community.
